Digital Dictation System

A state of the art digital dictation system, accessible via a toll-free telephone number is available for use by our clients. This system has the ability to emulate many of the popular digital systems in use today, so there is no need to learn a new system. Supported formats include: Dictaphone, Terminal Type Dictaphone, Lanier, Sony, RTAS, Digital Express and Digital Voice.

  • Voice files are archived for at least 3 weeks after they are transcribed, or, per customer request, indefinitely.
  • The system is backed up to a tape subsystem nightly and all is connected to a UPS.

Once the author dials into the system and correctly enters a user ID code, a work type and subject code may be entered. Through the telephone keypad, various record and playback functions are controlled: Click here for a detailed list of system functions.
Transcription Tracking System

This custom developed software package tracks jobs from when they are received by us until they are delivered back to the customer. The system keeps track of when the job was received, date assigned to a transcriptionist, date completed by the transcriptionist, date printed, date returned to the customer and method of delivery.

Statistical reports allow us to track the propagation time, balance workloads, manage delivery commitments, and provide a multitude of detailed information to the customer - in both paper and electronic form.
Local and Wide Area Network

Windows NT

We use Windows NT as the backbone for our internal network and at client sites because of the level of security and reliability it affords.

  • Reliability is enhanced by protecting the operating system from both the hardware and application processes. The NTFS file system has built-in transaction logging capability that maintains file consistency in the event of a system failure.
  • Security is in compliance with the US Department of Defense C2 standard which provides calls for a "need to know" protection paradigm along with auditing capability.
